More and more culture-hungry travellers are flocking to Vietnam now that it has firmly established itself on the tourist map.

Years of Chinese and then French occupation have left their imprint on the country’s culture and architecture, but the people remain friendly and welcoming to visitors from all over the world. 1- Breathtaking Nature

Vietnam Nature

Few countries can boast such a diversified scenery as Vietnam. The south of the country has a predominantly tropical climate, whereas the rest of the country is characterized by deep, lush woods, genuinely spectacular beaches, and mountainous terrain. The beautiful landscapes of traditional rice fields can take your breath away if you travel to the far north.
What’s more, because Vietnam is still a relatively new tourist destination, there are vast stretches of undeveloped beaches, tropical jungles, and towering mist-covered mountains waiting to be discovered. Vietnam also has the world’s largest cave and several local wildlife species.
Adventure seekers will not be disappointed, particularly if they visit Mui Ne’s sand dunes for a variety of high-octane activities such as sandboarding and quad biking, or on a motorbike trip (many rent or buy bikes to do so).

2- Several stunning UNESCO sites

UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) has designated a number of spectacular attractions in Vietnam as world-historic sites worthy of protection due to the country’s rich heritage and history. From the historic hamlet of Hoi An to the imperial city of Hue to Halong Bay, these sights will have you applauding the United Nations for really doing something worthwhile with all those cash entering their coffers!
Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park and My Son are two other UNESCO-protected locations that might simply knock your socks off, and there are a few more stunners on the nomination list that we can hope to see join the ranks of Vietnam’s true wonders shortly.

3- The One and Only Vietnamese coffee

Did you know that Vietnam is the world’s second-largest coffee producer? Vietnam has a fantastic coffee culture, and because I’m travelling with an Australian, coffee is a regular part of our journey. The coffee scene was excellent, with everything from drip coffees to cold brews, lattes, condensed milk coffee, and even yogurt coffee (really, it’s so good). Don’t miss out on the Vietnamese coffees; we’re drooling just thinking about them!

4- The Vibes of the Cities

Motorcycles can be seen in plenty. Markets have people. Almost every corner has street food. When walking across the city, there is an unbelievable bustling vitality. Folks are always drinking on street corners because the people are so welcoming. The aroma of food is tantalizing. On motorbikes, you can see entire families. It’s difficult to explain, but once you’re there, you can’t help but feel the spirit of Vietnam, and it’s an amazing place.

5- Affordable like no other country

Vietnam is a suitable travel destination when compared to other Asian countries because of its low cost of living. It is a travel experience that a larger number of people can afford, and it is ideal for long-term tourists.
There are plenty of lodging options to suit all budgets. Hostels can be found for as little as $2 per day and are a good location to stay. On Airbnb, the entire luxury property to yourself costs around $30 per day. You’d think you’d be staying in a run-down motel in a terrible section of town at those prices. These areas, on the other hand, are quite attractive.
Food is reasonably priced. A cup of steaming hot pho costs 20,000 dong, which is around $1 USD. It costs less than 50 cents for a Bahn mi sandwich. While you’re here, you won’t have to worry about finding a place to dine.

Affordability is one of the best reasons to visit Vietnam.

6- The Local Vietnamese Culture

Reasons to visit Vietnam

The Vietnamese nation has existed for over a thousand years and shows no signs of disappearing anytime soon.
Vietnam has a rich culture that presents itself in a variety of ways over the years. Architecture? Hoi An responds with its Japanese Bridge and the old Tan Ky House, while Hanoi provides with the temple at Hoan Kiem Lake. Entertainment? Attend a Vietnamese Water Puppets show. What do you mean, fine art? Take a trip to Kim Bong Village and pick up a few beautiful carvings to take home.
Visit one of Vietnam’s festivals to experience the country’s culture in action; the excitement of local celebrations around Tet (the New Year) will make the horrendous traffic worthwhile!

7- Best Beaches in Asia

Reasons to visit Vietnam

The beaches are definitely one of the best reasons to visit Vietnam. What could be more peaceful than spending time in the clear blue sea while basking in the sun? Allow the waves of Da Nang, Nha Trang, or Mui Ne to wash away the stresses of everyday life. Vietnam is home to several of the world’s best beaches. The majority of them are swimmable, and there are also options for water sports. You can go kite-surfing and wind-surfing at Nha Trang, for example. Enjoy a romantic getaway for couples and families in Da Nang at one of the world-class beach resorts. While arranging your seafood supper adventure in Mui Ne, take in the peace and quiet with a dash of wildness. Vietnam should definitely be on your bucket list if you enjoy the beach.

8- Welcoming people

The majority of tourists emphasize that the highlight of their travel to Vietnam was the Vietnamese people’s kindness and warmth. Travellers believe that Vietnam has a priceless resource: its people. Locals from North to South greet you with open arms, whether or not you are familiar with them. Even if it is your first visit to their home with a local guide, ethnic minority people in Sapa always treat you as a friend. Hue residents have a royal demeanour but are friendly, whereas Hoi An residents are noted for their honesty. Farmers in the Mekong Delta always greet you with a warm smile when you visit their families. People are probably the best reason to visit Vietnam.

Applying for a visa to Vietnam seems stressful at first- why would you need a visa to Vietnam while you are granted free 30-day entry to Thailand and Ecuador? Vietnam requires you anyway, and to alleviate the pain, the process has been made quite easy. Besides visas at the embassy, Vietnam visas can also be granted upon arrival. All you need to do is to apply online for your approval letter via a number of online travel companies, which are plentiful on the net. The visa letter will be emailed to you after 2 days. If you leave close to the embassy, it will take only about a 3-5 working day.

10- Culture Shock

Reasons to visit Vietnam

Counting how many people, animals, and large unusual objects can fit on a 50cc scooter is one of the most popular tourist games in Southeast Asia. Every time they believe they’ve seen the unthinkable, I notice an odd scooter configuration.
Ho Chi Minh City’s scooter traffic is crazy. With a population of 8.4 million people, the city has an estimated 7 million scooters and motorcycles. The volume of two-wheeled traffic is astounding. To determine if you have what it takes to live like a native, hire a scooter for the day. It will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for you. There is no better place in the world to experience a mild yet enjoyable culture shock than in Vietnam which is one of the best reasons to visit Vietnam.

  1. I have heard a lot about how fascinating Vietnam is. I agree about it being cheap. I know someone whose sister taught English in Vietnam and she was able to pay her way through grad school at Yale

    1. Wow, I had no idea TEFL teachers make that much in Vietnam. I knew about UAE and South Korea. It is amazing because if they pay good money, the teacher can save a lot as the prices in Vietnam are crazy cheap.
      Thank you for your comment.
