In this post, we’ll introduce you to the top 7 reasons why you should visit South Korea.

1- Rich History

South Korea’s history goes back to several thousand years ago, having roots in 8000 BC. There are still some of the historical castles from previous empires and they could manage to preserve traditional Korean values from their ancestors, as they were going towards modernity.

2- Korean festivals

There are several festivals in South Korea year-round for every taste, from Buddha’s birthday festival in May, to Cherry blossom festival in spring, to Chuseok, the Korean version of Thanksgiving.

3- Modern cities

Even though a lot of historical buildings are preserved in cities like Seoul, just around the corner, you’ll find futuristic buildings, countless skyscrapers, and cutting-edge technologies everywhere!

4- Korean cuisine

Since Korea has been isolated for a long time during history, people came up with innovative ideas to preserve vegetables, meat, and other kinds of food for the country’s harsh winters. That’s how the national dish, Kimchi (made up of salted vegetables) was created.

There are also so many side vegetable dishes and Korean snacks to taste throughout your trip!

To make it even better, each season comes with its festivals and special dishes like cold noodles in summer!

  1. Thanks for highlighting South Korea! I was born there but haven’t been back to visit. I really want to go there with my son to visit our heritage. I’m glad people like KDramas and KPop nowadays, the world is getting closer as we celebrate each other’s unique cultures. πŸ’–

      1. Tough question πŸ˜….
Different favourites in different genre πŸ˜€.
I really liked City Hunter and have watched all Lee Min Ho’s dramas.
In comedy I haven’t watched as hilarious a drama as ‘Waikiki Wonderland’.
I am actually more of a historical genre fan. Absolutely loved ‘Warrior Baek Dong Su’ and ‘Empress Ki’.

        1. It’s about a south Korean girl who ends up in North Korea by mistake and can’t get out of there! I have a few more favorites but can’t remember their names! I’ll find them later and discuss them with you!

  2. I absolutely adore South Korea, thanks to K-drama :D!! Hoping to visit it someday. Their language and my language (Urdu) even have similar words. It really shows how we all are connected.

    1. That’s so true! K-drama is awesome! Lol!
I have some understandings in a few languages (only fluent in two!) And they all have some words in common which is so weird!
Thank you for your comment! 😊
