  1. I particularly enjoy your posts on Africa because I am from Africa and I also live in Africa. I live in Lagos, Nigeria!! It’s so spot on about the fact that the city never sleeps. You got that right and there are a lot of people as well. Hehehe. A local read this one. Thanks for sharing this post!

    1. I lived in Sea Point, Cape Town, which is “where Nigeria lives” and I can assure you that one just could never sleep solidly for even an hour.

      1. That’s fair. Still, even though I’m an economist, economic development is not everything. I think Bobby Kennedy summed it up best: “The gross national product does not allow for the health of our children, the quality of their education, or the joy of their play. It does not include the beauty of our poetry or the strength of our marriages; the intelligence of our public debate or the integrity of our public officials. It measures neither our wit nor our courage; neither our wisdom nor our learning; neither our compassion nor our devotion to our country; it measures everything, in short, except that which makes life worthwhile.”

          1. Thank you! I had an econ professor who thought Bobby Kennedy was full of s**t though (his own words). All I say is, if you want to be taken seriously, don’t throw shade at the Kennedys, and most importantly, don’t quote Richard Nixon or any other airheaded Republican!
