  1. If I’m not mistaken, Tatooine in the Star Wars movies (the desert planet where Luke grew up) was filmed in Tunisia and named after an actual town there.

(I looked it up, and yes, I was correct, although some Tatooine scenes in the original movie were also filmed in Death Valley, California.)

  2. I was definitely surprised to learn about Tunisia as a hidden gem. In Where to Invade Next, Michael Moore asks a Tunisian woman what she would like to say to Americans and she said to learn about her country and come visit! She said Tunisians know about the US, but the US doesn’t know about them! Definitely a reality check!

    1. Exactly, but it’s not just Tunisians. In fact, most Ammericans have no conception of geography at all! Lol!
But it’s changing now, as they can see that thhe US wasn’t the almighty power in Covid thing anymore! I read that now Americans who are seeking for other citizenships has increased 4 times compared to pre-covid!

      1. I know. The ignorance makes me want to bash my head against a wall! The NYT has an article that I’m going to use in a future post about dual/multiple nationality that says it’s now a status symbol in the US to have another passport. I also heard 5,000 people have renounced their US citizenship this year. So many people have asked me if I know about those things that I now just answer “Yes.” Nuff said
