2- Washlet toilet seat

It’s a common thing to see Unmanned vegetable stands beside the roads in Japan. There’s no seller beside the stands, simply the price tag above every product and a basket to put your money!
8- Machine-operated multistory parking space
Since there’s not a lot of spaces in a narrow country like Japan, they have invented automatic parking spaces which take your car to a massive underground parking lot.
9- One-use pocket heater
These heater packs are used to put in your pocket during winter. you simply open them up, shake it a little, put it in your pocket and use it, then throw it away! The one-use pocket heater is very convenient during wintertime!
10- Automatic taxi doors
Taxi doors in Japan would automatically open up for you! Nothing could be more welcoming than a taxi door being open for you as you step out of a Japanese airport!

Those vegetable stands are truly weird! They’re mostly in the countryside tho. They don’t have such a thing in the big cities (or at least I haven’t witnessed!?!)

Yes, that’s almost true about the vegetable stands. Although they are usually near the main roads where a lot of cars are passing by daily, but they probably never had an issue with thieves since it’s still happening! lol!
Maybe you and I should go to Japan and teach them not to trust strangers! lol! We’d make some good pocket money along the way! lol!

I just love 1-4! Heard all about them and would love to try the capsule hotels and different KitKats. I see the ads in the tissue packs saves on junk mail! I knew about the face mask thing before the pandemic and I sort of wondered how Japan would fare in the pandemic. Not surprised about low infection rates!

I just think they’re so wise! Except in one part, if a foreigner attends a public school in Japan, they would get bullied like there’s no tomorrow!! It’s all mental bullying tho! Not physical!
Don’t downplay mental bullying. It’s just as bad or worse than physical bullying. There’s another part too: their martial arts are bloody and violent because they aren’t based on Confucian values like Chinese martial arts

I was too close to continue my education in Japan and even applied for a scholarship, but after hearing all of those stories, I was like, “Thanks, but no!”
Agreed. Countries are as imperfect as people in them. I don’t blame you. I had to face that kind of bullying in England and my first experience of it at 10 years old shaped a lot of who I am today

I’m glad you got lucky. Well, what I experienced at 10 was just the beginning. I grew from all the experiences though and if anything, it made me more compassionate towards others than I ever expected. I recovered from it when I moved back to the US
