Have you ever been to Japan? If yes, you must’ve got fascinated by how modern Japan is, but if you have not been to Japan, we’re here to show you 5 things you can only find in Japan.
1- Vending Machines

We’ve all seen vending machines and sometimes use them if we’re out of options or simply for fun but in Japan, vending machines are everywhere! You can find them even in a rural alley! Vending machines in Japan, sell whatever you’d imagine, from warm food and Ice cream to newspapers and adult stuff!
2- Washlet toilet seat

In Japanese toilets, you’ll find the option of using water to clean yourself with various functions like spraying hot water, dryer, and even music! Foreigners who visit Japan, fall in love with Washlet toilet seat.
3- Limited edition Kit-Kats

Limited edition Kit-Kats are a very popular souvenir to bring back home. The flavors of Kit-Kats in Japan would blow your mind.
4- Capsule Hotels

Capsule Hotels could be found in other parts of the world but the original idea belongs to Japan. Capsule Hotels are very popular among tourists in Japan because they’re very safe, cheap, and make you feel you’re in a Sci-Fi movie!
5- Free tissues on the street
It’s quite normal for Japanese people to see someone standing on a corner, handing out free tissues to everyone. Companies put their advertisements inside these tissues and give them away for free!
6- People wear face masks everywhere

With the rise of the Coronavirus pandemic, it’s not that uncommon for us to see people wearing masks but in Japan, people use face masks all the time for different reasons such as pollen, germs, and some just don’t like to be recognized by others!
7- Unmanned vegetable stands
It’s a common thing to see Unmanned vegetable stands beside the roads in Japan. There’s no seller beside the stands, simply the price tag above every product and a basket to put your money!
8- Machine-operated multistory parking space
Since there’s not a lot of spaces in a narrow country like Japan, they have invented automatic parking spaces which take your car to a massive underground parking lot.
9- One-use pocket heater
These heater packs are used to put in your pocket during winter. you simply open them up, shake it a little, put it in your pocket and use it, then throw it away! The one-use pocket heater is very convenient during wintertime!
10- Automatic taxi doors
Taxi doors in Japan would automatically open up for you! Nothing could be more welcoming than a taxi door being open for you as you step out of a Japanese airport!
V informative n interesting Thnx to share this lovely post .

The machine operated parking looks like something out of a spaceship 👀 compared to the UK, Japan looks like high level quirky – I’m curious!!! 🤔

Some of the are so surprising, but I love the idea of unmanned market stalls, just shows the trust and honesty that isn’t present in a lot of other countries

Exactly! Japan is so alien for me! Lol

A 25th century city indeed. And that unmanned vegetable stand. Ah, the level of trust. It’s good people are cultured over there.

I go to Japan as frequently as I can (once a year) and each time I go I find something new. But I miss the vending machines in the middle of nowhere 🙂

Yes, those vending machines are just so cool! I often got surprised by the stuff they had in those machines!

I think I totally love Japan!!!! You had me on most points!!
My daughter would go crazy with the KitKats – that’s her ultimate favorite candy!!!
The only one that shocked me was the unmanned vegetable stands where you put money in a basket.
You could not do that here!!! That is honor system!!
To both pay what is, and then also there is a basket of money right there ? They don’t have issues or problems with that?
That tells me they are honest and trustworthy then??

It turns out that your daughter and I are on the same page so far, since we both love ketchup and KitKat! lol!
Those vegetable stands are truly weird! They’re mostly in the countryside tho. They don’t have such a thing in the big cities (or at least I haven’t witnessed!?!)

That’s hilarious!! She is obsessed with KitKats … like no other
Do you like mint ? She doesn’t like mint – Kit Kat’s have a mint one – which I love, but she does not.
I guess in country side all the neighbors know each other? And would be honest and trustworthy ❤️

No, the only mint thing that I like is lemonade!
I didn’t even want to try mint KitKat. I’m pretty sure it would ruin my whole life! lol!
Yes, that’s almost true about the vegetable stands. Although they are usually near the main roads where a lot of cars are passing by daily, but they probably never had an issue with thieves since it’s still happening! lol!
Maybe you and I should go to Japan and teach them not to trust strangers! lol! We’d make some good pocket money along the way! lol!

Hahaha oh that’s so funny!! You are alike!!
Hahaha… that’s funny … sad the world is like that. Is actually nice to see a place still trusting.
I wouldn’t want to give more countries a reason to hate Americans 🙄✌️😄
I wonder if they take IOU’s lol

We don’t have to tell them our nationalities tho! It would be a lesson for life! They’re gonna thank us later! lol!

I just love 1-4! Heard all about them and would love to try the capsule hotels and different KitKats. I see the ads in the tissue packs saves on junk mail! I knew about the face mask thing before the pandemic and I sort of wondered how Japan would fare in the pandemic. Not surprised about low infection rates!

Exactly! Those vending machines are so convinient that you’d miss em when coming back from Japan.
Japan is just too wise to be true! (in my opinion! lol)

Yeah. It sounds more convenient and ethical than Amazon. I like your analysis of Japan being a wise culture. That’s one way of putting it 👍🏻

I just think they’re so wise! Except in one part, if a foreigner attends a public school in Japan, they would get bullied like there’s no tomorrow!! It’s all mental bullying tho! Not physical!
LikeLiked by 1 person
Don’t downplay mental bullying. It’s just as bad or worse than physical bullying. There’s another part too: their martial arts are bloody and violent because they aren’t based on Confucian values like Chinese martial arts

Right! At the end of the day, nobody’s perfect.
I was too close to continue my education in Japan and even applied for a scholarship, but after hearing all of those stories, I was like, “Thanks, but no!”

Agreed. Countries are as imperfect as people in them. I don’t blame you. I had to face that kind of bullying in England and my first experience of it at 10 years old shaped a lot of who I am today

I hear you! I was lucky during my school days tho because I never got bullied.
But I can’t imagine how hard it would be for a 10 years old to experience such a thing.
Hope it doesn’t hurt your feelings as much when you think about it now.

I’m glad you got lucky. Well, what I experienced at 10 was just the beginning. I grew from all the experiences though and if anything, it made me more compassionate towards others than I ever expected. I recovered from it when I moved back to the US
