Introduction
The USSR is one of the weirdest Empires in history since after its collapse, despite their similarities, none of the offsprings are alike, even the ones in Central Asia. Each one had a completely different destiny which we previously explained briefly in three posts.
Kazakhstan is one of the former Soviet states that could successfully move on to a better future.

Recent History of Kazakhstan
In recent history, Kazakhstan was a member of the USSR and became an independent country on December 10, 1991. Soon after that, they started planning to bring Kazakh citizens back to the country to become the majority of their population.
After that, they discovered Oil and Gas reserves that boomed the economy significantly. In 1997, the government moved the capital to Astana (renamed Nur-Sultan on 23 March 2019) from Almaty, the country’s largest city, where it had been established under the Soviet Union.
Nur Sultan was built out of nothing and now it’s as modern as possible which is very interesting!
People in Kazakhstan
About %70 of people in Kazakhstan identify as Kazakh while about %20 are Russian.
The interesting part about Kazakhs is that although their Official language is Kazakh (That looks like Mongolian and Turkish) and the second one is Russian but most people still rather speaking Russian over Kazakh! They are obsessed with Russian TV shows and love to travel there!
Kazakhstan connects central Asia to Europe which had its influence on how people look. They mostly have white skin with Asian-style Eyes and sometimes light-colored hair!
Although most people are Muslim, the government tried its best to establish a secular state that was a huge success especially since people’s Islam style is different from the Middle Eastern style.

Shymbulak Ski Resort in Kazakhstan
Kazakhstan is a cold country and this world-class Ski Resort represents it the best! It’s located near the former capital, Almaty.
Khan Shatyr Entertainment Center in Kazakhstan
having the Guinness world record for Tallest tensile structure, this huge modern tent is a big shopping center with a Beach at the top which means you can enjoy the beachfront during winter time when it’s -15 °C (5 °F) outside!

The Ex-capital of Kazakhstan is a big modern city with a lot of things to do, especially the beautiful monuments, showing off at each corner!
Nur Sultan (Astana) Kazakhstan’s capital
Being Kazakhstan’s capital since 10 June 1998, this city has won a peace medal, awarded by UNESCO. It’s impressive to see how they built this modern city in only a few years (Something like Dubai).

Me too! The title of building new capitals belongs to Iran. They changed their capital every 100 years or even sooner!

Great blog post on Kazakhstan.
I think that all the -stan countries shared a similar history, forget long the Silk Road and the (un)avoidable poppy and heroine trade.
Much like its sister and neighbor Afghanistan, Kazakhstan handled the best that it could the USSR invasion and the scars left behind.
