Healthcare

Canada

The healthcare system in Canada is similar to European countries. Anyone who stays longer than 3 months in Canada is eligible for free healthcare which covers everything but dental and eye. But the quality of healthcare varies from region to region. In some parts of the country, there might be a longer waiting time for some of the surgeries or a professional doctor’s appointment.

United States

In the US, the situation is much different. There’s no nationwide health care system. All individuals should purchase an insurance plan if their employer doesn’t cover the cost for them.

For eligible individuals, the cheapest health insurance option is Medicaid. To be eligible in the federal insurance program, your household income must be less than either 133% or 138% of the federal poverty level (FPL). The exact eligibility level depends on the state that you live in since some states have passed legislation to expand their Medicaid programs to more low-income adults.

Americans know that health insurance is essential to have since even calling 911 for an ambulance would cost $500-1000. If someone gets sick without being covered under an insurance plan in America, they will literally need to file for bankruptcy.

Weather

Canada

Canada is the second-largest country in the world after Russia, which means there should be different climates throughout the country, but it is partially true.

During the summertime, most provinces in Canada are warm and sunny, but from late October to early April, most regions are snowy and cold, except for Southern British Columbia which is protected by the Rocky mountains against the snowy clouds. But even the warmest cities in Canada, Vancouver, and Victoria are not immune from harsh winters. They don’t get as cold as Toronto or Montreal, but it is raining almost continuously every day from October to April.

Generally, Canadians take daily vitamins because of the lack of sunshine throughout the year.

United States

The United States is the third-largest country in the world after Russia and Canada, but unlike Canada, there are actively four seasons in America, any time of the year. Southern states like California, Texas, and Florida are sunny most days of the year, while Northern states are mostly cold, especially the state of Alaska.

Blessed with different climates, people can choose their desired weather in the US, whether they’re a fan of sunshine, rain, or even snow.

2-Canadian passport holders enjoy visa-free entry to Uzbekistan while Americans need a visa to enter Uzbekistan.
